Display news and articles in a clear, modern and flexible layout
Chilli News Listing is a Joomla module designed to display articles and news in several customisable layouts. It allows you to adapt the presentation of content to your website without writing HTML, CSS or PHP code.
The module can display articles as a traditional vertical list or as modern horizontal cards arranged in multiple columns. You can configure image position and dimensions, title and introduction length, publication date, category and the Read More button.

From version 1.0.5, a single News Listing (Chilli) module can be used across multiple language versions of your website. Simply select the corresponding categories for all languages, and the module will automatically display articles matching the language currently selected on the frontend.
Multiple article layouts
Chilli News Listing allows you to choose the layout that best suits your content and website design.
In the vertical layout, articles are displayed one below another, with the image positioned on the left or right side. This layout is ideal for news portals, blogs, archive pages and lists of recently published articles.
The horizontal layout displays articles as cards and allows you to select the number of columns. It is suitable for homepages, featured news, recommended articles and themed content sections.
Image display control
You can configure:
- image position on the left or right;
- image width;
- image height;
- automatic cropping to the selected dimensions.
This makes it possible to maintain a consistent appearance even when the original article images have different sizes or proportions.
Customisable text length
The module allows you to limit the length of article titles and introduction text. This prevents long titles or descriptions from disrupting the page layout.
You can create a compact presentation containing only the image and title, or a more detailed layout that includes the introduction, date, category and Read More button.
Date, category and Read More button
For each article listing, you can show or hide:
- publication date;
- category name;
- introduction text;
- Read More button.
The date format can be adjusted to match your website requirements, for example:
d.m.Y.
The category name can link to the corresponding category page, allowing visitors to easily discover related content.
